Say, could we start a campaign targeted at JWs:

.
old timers on the board may remember that i was the first to mention the november 06 blood insert in the km.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/121104/1.ashx.
the same very, very reliable source has confirmed that the book study will be amalgamated with the tms and sm.. this same source recently had a long and private conversation with a gb member.

recently i purchased a sony product at radio shack.
i was about to throw out the packaging when i realized a raised strip on the instruction card insert.
upon closer examination, i saw a very very tiny logo on this raised strip.
Did someone call ... ?
"IT" Support
any takers?.
i'm guessing it's because people might get too curious when covering the material and wonder about different religions..
SBF,
surely it would be okay so long as she wore a head covering while writing it.
Good point.
AaG,
Maybe its one of those cases where the writer turns apostate
Good theory, and tempting too, but sadly she was still at Bethel last time I visited (a few years ago now, admittedly!), but which was long after the book was published, and was still apparently 'loyal.'
any takers?.

A number of convincing reasons have been advanced, however I heard the book was researched and written by a 'sister' in London Bethel. An attractive young sister who, before going into Bethel, used to work as a research assistant at the British Museum.
And I don't think sisters are allowed to write any material that is used for 'teaching,' whether WT study articles or book study publications
After all, everybody -- well, every holy high roller, anyway -- knows that holy spirit doesn't flow through those of the feminine gender. Especially attractive young ones.
Which does rather beg the question, why the heck did they publish it in the first place ... ?
greetings gang!.
today is st. patrick's day (i'm irish) and a new project has begun in apostate land.. gary busselman and i are going to start a radio talk show on the internet.. we need your help.. i know nothing of the technology of doing this.. i have a lot of experience on regular radio interviews and talk shows.. as far as i know i am the only "called on" cult expert los angeles, so the news services are familiar with me.. here's what i have in mind and what i need from someone out there.. first the name of the show.. we are thinking the buss and watt show: "what we meant to say.".
(watt was my nickname in the pressroom at bethel, given to me by thomas cabeen).. it will be hosted at www.armageddonokies.com .. i choose a subject to discuss, for 45-60 imn.. we have callers.. no doctrinal issues discussed whatsoever.. the theme is social behavior with a humorous bent.. don't need ideas for what talk about or who to have on or what to say, but.... i need advice on the technology of creating a talk show on internet using existing services or whatever would be best.. i already have an audience.. i would sincerely welcome your comments,.
Randy and Gary,
Superb idea. Go for it, guys!
I'd strongly second Sad Emo's suggestion to also make each show available as a podcast.
Here's a useful tutorial to Create your own podcast:

i've had these items laying around for awhile and thought i'd make pdfs of them.
they are scans of some of the actual documents from the 1917 schism at watchtower headquarters: the dispute between rutherford and 4 members of the board of directors.
as far as i know, these exist as text files on a couple of sites and are also on another site with garish watermarks through them.
If anyone has Rutherford's Harvest Siftings (I and II), I'd love to see scans of those made available as well.
I have these, but only as text files, not scans.
Are they of interest?
you may or may not be aware but the charites act 2006 is now in force and it means that from end 2007 charites (including the jw's) will have to proove that they offer public benefit if they are to still retain their charitable status and in turn get gift aid on nearly every single donation and keep their tax exempt status.. the charity law association made some very interesting comments regarding the witnesses in their memorandum that was submitted in evidence to the joint commitee on the draft charites bill.
their comments on the taylorite sect of the exclusive brethren "excluding children from the family home" is also quite relevant.
this is only enidence from an outside body but it shows things could change.. http://www.publications.parliament.uk/pa/jt200304/jtselect/jtchar/167/4061625.htm.
Paddington Bear,
Thank you for that clarification.

Paddington Bear,
They are about to start consultations regarding what public benefit should mean for different charitable sectors, including religion.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the consultations closed some time ago:
Consultation ends 6 June 2007
The Charity Commission have now published their guidelines. See Charities and Public Benefit.
Regards.

That's encouraging, if they suspect there's only one ...
Movers and shakers you wont find in this group, it needs an external "trigger event" for them to break loose.
The rumour I heard was they seriously expected all the GB would be arrested by the FBI over their conspiracy to cover up child molestation.
